The Maury County Public Schools' 7 Keys to College & Career Readiness were formulated in the fall of 2015. Over a 10-week period, 46 groups were asked three basic questions:

1. What should students know and be able to do before leaving fourth grade?
2. What should students know and be able to do before leaving eighth grade?
3. What should students know and be able to do before graduating high school?

From these listening sessions, we collected more than 9,300 ideas for systemic and systematic improvement in the school system. We whittled down these ideas to the top ten in each section and then the top three. The final majority statements made up the current 7 Keys to College & Career Readiness that we have today.

As we work to make the 7 Keys happen for each student, we realize that school district data tracking and budgeting must change to get more resources into the hands of students, teachers, and principals. To this end, we scorecard all district and school-funded measures to determine that the county taxpayers are getting a great return on investment. The district scorecard is updated quarterly so check back often!

Schools and classrooms are not the only departments that impact academic success for students. To make the greatest impact, our non-classroom based departments hold themselves accountable to improving services to ensure that classrooms and schools have what they need in order to be successful. The departmental scorecards are updated bi-annually.
